One of the biggest benefits of any quality auto tint, especially ceramic window tint, is the heat rejection it offers during the hotter months here in Colorado Springs. It is incredibly important to reject as much heat as possible with window tint in Colorado Springs, as vehicles heat up incredibly quickly since there is no airflow when they are parked!
Even on an 80 degree day, after an hour your vehicle interior can reach temperatures above 120 degrees without window tint. This helps to protect your valuables from being seen by potential thieves, and even helps keep the glass intact if broken.
Since automotive window tint is quite difficult to tear or rip, if your glass is broken through vandalism, an accident, or inclement weather, the glass pieces can remain stuck together on the sheet of tint. It's not a 100% guarantee, but many times the glass does remain attached to the film, which can help reduce injuries from flying glass, and makes it more difficult to gain access inside the vehicle illegally.

For both ceramic and carbon window tint, darker shades will always offer higher heat rejection since the tint is able to block out more light and therefore heat. Darker window tint also greatly increases privacy, making it much harder to see into the vehicle. The biggest downside is that by making it harder to see in, it will also be harder to see out. For lighter window tint shades, the opposite is true. Heat rejection will be less than darker shades, but still better than not having tint at all, especially on hot days here in Colorado Springs. It is much easier to see with lighter tint shades, but also has less privacy than darker shades of window tint. We refuse to offer anything but perfectly cut window tint in Colorado Springs, so although our installers are more than capable of hand cutting, we still choose to go the digitally cut route every chance we can. Our window tint cutting software includes incredibly accurate templates for just about every vehicle offered in the USA within the last 40+ years. Unless you have a true classic or have imported something crazy, we will always provide perfectly cut window tint when available.

How is Car Window Tint Installed?
Window tint is always installed on the inside of your vehicle to protect it from the elements which is necessary here in Colorado Springs! Although tint is incredibly durable and includes a scratch resistant layer, if it were installed on the outside, it would be exposed to rock chips and other debris that could destroy the film. By installing it on the inside, the film is safe from weather and debris and will easily last the life of your vehicle!
Our window tint process starts with a thorough cleaning of the exterior of your windows to make sure that no dust or debris is present for the shrinking process. We then pull up your vehicle's template in our digital cutting software, and perfectly cut out the shape of your windows in the shade and line of window tint that you've chosen.
Once the film is cut, we remove all the excess film, and begin the interior cleaning. We only use water mixed with a little bit of interior-safe soap and thoroughly clean the inside of the windows so no contaminants are present between the window tint and your glass. We do not use ANY products that can harm your interior surfaces (trim, leather, cloth, plastics, etc.) in any way.
After the interior glass cleaning, we spray a fine mist of water on the windows to allow the film to slide perfectly into position. Our installers take great care to ensure no contaminants get between the window tint and glass, and ensure that the film fits perfectly with no light gaps. The tint is squeegeed into place to remove as much moisture as possible, and this process is repeated for all remaining windows.
Is Ceramic Tint Worth It?
No doubt about it! Ceramic window films offer far superior heat rejection compared to the same shade as a carbon based film.
The ceramic construction naturally provides higher total solar energy rejection, or TSER if you're looking at a tint spec sheet. In addition to higher TSER, the ceramic particle layers block a significant amount of infrared light, or IR, which is the heat you can feel on your skin if you move back and forth from shadow into the sun.
By rejecting more overall heat at any given shade, ceramic window tint gives you a wider range of options and abilities than a carbon-only based film. You can either go with a lighter overall window tint option to help increase visibility while potentially still rejecting more heat than a carbon film, or you can stick with a darker shade to maximize the amount of heat rejected.

Is Automotive Tint Removeable?
Absolutely! Even though it can last a lifetime and seem permanent, we can always remove the film should you need it. The adhesive layer of window tint has a permanent level of strength which allows the film to stick to your glass for the life of the vehicle, and enables us to provide a lifetime warranty.
However, we fully understand that you may want to remove the tint when selling a vehicle, or you may want to remove window tint from a vehicle you just purchased that may be a shade you don't like, or that was installed improperly. Older films that were manufactured many years ago also do not have the longevity and technology of modern window tint options, so they may be failing!
It's quite an involved process to remove the film since it is supposed last a long time, but we've removed window tint from hundreds of vehicles and have the process dialed in. If removal is needed, we highly recommend having window tint professionally removed, since nearly all cars have defroster lines in the rear, and many new vehicles have sensitive systems in and around the glass that can easily be damaged without proper removal procedures.

How Long Does Window Tint Last?

What is the Darkest Legal Tint in Colorado?
Every state has their own laws regarding tint legality, so it's important that you make sure that you're aware of the legality of the film shade you choose. Every window tint option is offered in a wide range of shades, and the film itself is not the issue, it is exclusively the shade.
In Colorado Springs and Colorado as a whole, we are lucky to have two options for legal window tint and they're really just based on whether or not you tint the front two side windows. If you tint all the side windows and rear, the darkest legal limit is 27.5%. Since no manufacturer makes a 27.5% shade of film, we always use a 30% to get you as close to the legal limit as possible.
The other option is to leave the front two side windows clear, and then you can go as dark as you want in the rear, even to the point of blacking the windows out entirely. Not that it's a practical option, but you have to consider that big box trucks and many work vans either only have two side windows to begin with, or would benefit from the rear windows being as dark as possible to protect tools or any valuables that may be inside.
Colorado definitely has some pretty relaxed laws about window tint compared to other states, but should you be moving to another state and want to make sure you're legal, we can apply whatever shade necessary to ensure your vehicle remains legal once you move. We have documentation on all state laws regarding window tint to make sure you don't have to worry about your tint once you move!
What Happens in an Accident?
While automotive window tint isn't a foolproof solution, the strong adhesives that are a part of any quality window tint's construction does help to keep the glass more intact during an accident or any other impact that would break the glass. Window tint is quite a durable film, and rather than all that glass flying around the interior of your vehicle which can cause serious harm, window tint can help hold it together keeping you and your passengers safer.
It is important to not that window tint is not a guaranteed safety product, nor does it protect from piercing of sharp objects. We can't promise it will hold your glass together in all scenarios, but we've seen time and time again from clients and personally that it can help in many situations.
I Can See Out, But Not In?
Of course! As important as blocking glare, heat, and UV are, it wouldn't make any sense to install window tint if you couldn't see while driving! Most light to medium shades of window tint can actually improve visibility looking from the inside of the vehicle by reducing glare, but to help explain it a little better, just picture the clear glass of your home.
When it's bright and sunny outside, you can't really see into your house through your windows since it's darker inside than outside. You see more of the reflected light bouncing off the glass rather than seeing past it. Inside your home though, it's obviously very easy to see outside.
However, at night time when it's dark outside and you have the lights on inside your home, it's very easy to see into the home. Since there is minimal light outside the windows, there's nothing to reflect, and all the light from the inside escapes the windows very easily. In contrast, it's also very hard to see anything outside your home at night because it's so much darker than inside.
The same principles apply to your vehicle. Once your windows are tinted, the added contrast helps to reflect more light and it makes it much darker inside the vehicle than outside, so it's very difficult to see in. From the inside, it's still so much brighter outside so it's easy to see out!
